An experimental mtb by Pemberton Billing was tested on Loch Lomond by the Marine Aircraft Experimental Establishment btween 1943 and 45. This I know but have no idea what it was other than the engines were too powerful for the plywood hull. Any ideas?
apparently Pemberton Billing worked with Scott-Paine and from the video they redesigned the hull shape so that boat 'planed' over the water to increase the hull speed of the boat, I guess adding more horsepower by installing larger engines may have made the boat unstable The forgotten torpedo testing of Loch Lomond The forgotten torpedo testing of Loch Lomond Secret Scotland - Loch Long Torpedo Range
Thank you, maybe it was a 'Scott Paine' mtb. It was a one off anyway, an aborted experimental. Glen Gruin I know about and have reports on trials carried out there by MAEE
