Pelelieu Islands 23rd September 1944

I Would be extremely interested in learning of the Actions around Pelelieu Islands on 23rd September 1944,When Hellcat Pilot Sergeant Jay Paul Maloney of Delta,Utah was Killed,Born in Delta,Utah in 1922;He had enlisted into the USMCR in June 1942,having Graduated from Provo Junior High School,Finishing Boot Camp in September '42 he was posted to Pilot Training @ Norman Oklahoma & Cherry Point North Carolina,He was posted to a USMCR{Air III} Hellcat Night Bomber Squadron,He met his death @ the age of just 22 on 23 September 1944;@ Pelelieu Islands, Phillipines;Prior to WW2 he had been a member of the BSA receiving the Eagle Scout Award & a Swathe of Scout Proficiency Badges,these along with his Enamelled Naming WW2 OPH & Campaign Medals[Defense,Pacific,American,Liberation of Phillipines Ribbon & Star]; somehow ended up in the United Kingdom in the 1990s,in a Village Auction in Dunmow Essex,from whence I was fortunate enough to retrieve them!I have found a Utah College Site with his Photo[See Attached}& some biographical details ,but would like to learn more of the Action in which he was Killed.
