    Hello everybody,

I am a French researcher working on a project honouring Major Nigel Harold Scott HAMBRO, commanding 220 Battery, 55th (Suffolk Yeomanry) Anti-Tank Regiment (Royal Artillery), 49th (West Riding) Infantry Division.

I am looking for a photo of him, or a photo of his battery on which his grandson (who I am in touch with) might recognize him.

Here's some information about his service :

    Nigel Harold Scott HAMBRO (18 January 1915 - 29 January 1987)
    108th (Suffolk & Norfolk Yeo.) Fd. Bde. - 2nd Lt. 26th-Apr. 1938
    55th (Suffolk Yeomanry) Anti-Tank Regiment (220 Battery) - (W.S./Lt. 1/1/41) (T/Capt. 15/5/41) (A/Maj. 25/6/43) (W.S./Capt. 25/9/43) (T/Maj.25/9/43)
After he landed in Normandy in June 1944, attached to the 49th (West Riding) Infantry Division, he served in France, Holland, and Germany (+ occupation).
He was awarded the Territorial Decoration (T.D.) in 1945.

If you are interested in his service, I have published some of his letters on my website (more will appear in the sequel to my first book "Till Victory" about WW2 frontline letters) : www.tillvictory.com/en/letter.html (please note that English is not my native language and there might be some mistakes on this self-translated version)

I have already contacted the Suffolk & Norfolk Yeomanry museum (Muckleburgh Military Collection) in Norfolk but they don't have the time nor the resources to carry a research in their archives...

Any idea how and where I could get a photo of him? This is your chance to have your name in the thank you section of a book ;)

    Thank you very much,

    Clément

Hello, so nobody here living close to the Suffolk & Norfolk Yeomanry museum? I'm willing to pay for the service (cheaper than a plane ticket) ;)

    Have a nice day,

    Clément

Great job! I sent it to his grandson but I'm sure it doesn't need confirmation, he looks just like him!

Guy Hudson, you won your name in the thank you section of the book! If that's not your real name please tell me via PM :D

    Thank you!
