A few photos here of my late Father that have come into my possession during his time in the Royal Artillery WW2 .
No dates and in some case difficult to tell whether 116th or 92nd.
I will try to get them sharpened up some time (but not coloured!)
    Any info please add

thought they might be of interest.

They're great pictures, Clive and I'd be really interested in any further information if they are 92nd LAA.

In the fifth picture down, I wonder if the round symbol on the soldier's sleeve is the red rose of Lancashire, as worn by 92nd LAA?

This was to indicate that they were originally a Lancashire battalion, the 7th Loyals.

I thought the 92nd LAA rang a bell so I did a bit of GOOGLING and found this on the BBC People's War Archives:
If you scroll down until you reach the bottom of the article you will see that I made comment at the time..............

    BBC - WW2 People's War - My Father in 7th Loyals / 92nd LAA

and to save you some time, the link to the website for the 92nd LAA: index

    Hello Ron,

Thanks for the link to the BBC People’s War Archives and my father’s story. It jogged my memory about how I posted that article back in 2003 and I do remember your kind comment about it.

The Geocities link you give is to my original website, which was discontinued at short notice when free hosting ended in 2008. That’s when I joined WW2 Talk and was fortunately able to transfer my stuff over here.

Since then, I’ve moved the 7th Loyals / 92nd LAA history to its own dedicated website at …

    Home

… but a complete copy of the text is also available here on WW2 Talk under the Unit Histories / Royal Artillery section …

    7th Loyals / 92nd (Loyals) LAA Regiment, RA, 1940-1946

The history, called True Loyals, has been substantially updated since those early days, mainly incorporating interviews with veterans.

I also published it in book form in 2012. The book is now out of print, but a full PDF copy is available on the website. The PDF might be worth a look for anyone interested, because it has many pictures that are not on the website.

Anyhow, Ron, thanks once again. I always enjoy your postings and it’s good to know that you are still going strong.

Don't know about the "strong" bit, but yes, it's still good to be around :)

Hi Clive thanks for sharing the photographs, its good to see these, it keeps the memory,s of our fathers and their comrades alive.
I will dig out some photo,s that I found amongst my late fathers stuff, and scan them to the computer so i can upload them to you.

On the picture of the group with the bofors either side I think my father is sat fourth from the left on the bottom row,it's a shame these old photo,s are so grainy.

Could you send me the picture as a JPEG maybe i can get a better resolution from that.

    Regards Alan
