It'd be much appreciated if anyone can point me at a picture of Vivian Loyd, of Carrier fame? Finding it strange that I can find Carden, who died so much earlier, but not Loyd. Not having much joy on the Internet with his own 'Vivian loyd & Co.' either, (as opposed to 'carden-loyd tractors ltd' - joint company that was absorbed by Vickers) Seems peculiar that he has no English Wiki article either - one on the Polish variant, but that's all taken from a book I already have.: Google Translate - Polish Wiki on Loyd Cheers, Adam.

Cheers Phil, but that's the carrier itself - not Loyd the man. Looking for postwar shots of him seems to be drawing a blank too. ~A
Adam, I've also drawn a blank for a photo of the man himself. It may be worth looking at books related to the carrier etc, that are advertised online and allow you to view the contents, you may just get lucky with a photo. Regards Tom
Argh - been rooting through my books and had left the one that Polish Wiki article was from till last - foolishly as it turned out . Apologies for wasting anyone's time chaps. A small low-res scan of the young Vivian Loyd, from Foss & McKenzie's excellent work: 'The Vickers Tanks'. : ~A
Adam, Glad you found a photograph of the man himself. Always nice to put a face to a creator. Regards Tom
I've found his MiC, from his WW1 service. Any of you nice chaps able to download it for us? Cheers The National Archives | DocumentsOnline | Image Details
