I can find very little on this chap. He was stationed at Pembroke Dock and died 21st Sept 1943 (CWGC has 21.07. 43) He is buried in my local churchyard All Saints and St Mary Lambourne Essex. Married to Ida Pocock. That's all I have. Can anyone help with more info please Patrick
Did you follow up on your previous enquiry, what did his death certificate reveal? 9 Squadron RAF Volunteer Reserve W/O William Arthur Pocock 335622 RAF
A little more, but with different date of death on the Old Haltonians website: 335622 Pocock, William Arthur W.O. 30-Nov-42 37 Lambourne (St. Mary & All Saints) Churchyard, Essex. Based at North Weald. 331 Squadron VS Spitfire V & IX http://www.oldhaltonians.co.uk/pages/links/rememb/ROH/2. RAFHAA Page This indicates he passed through an apprenticeship & trained for a trade at RAF Halton, which given his age & rank at death indicates he was in the RAF pre-war & maybe still serving in 1939.
