I have been asked by a friend to see if the following Pole was a member of the Polish Parachute Brigade and took part in the landings at Arnhem.

The mans name was Antoni Bogusz. From my own research so far I have found that he was entitled to the parachute badge numbered 4313 with wreath number 551. I have seen a photo of his discharge papers which show him wearing the badge with the wreath so it would seem correct that he did take part in Op market Garden. In the book History of the Polish Parachute Badge he is shown as Kpr.1.SBS.MG which I presume means he was a member of the MG Platoon with the rank of Private but I am not sure what SBS stands for in the Polish Army.
I do have the book 'With the Poles at Arnhem' somewhere but can't find it at the moment if anyone has a copy would it be possible to check it to see if he gets a mention in the index please. Any other information on him
would be great as his son would be very interested.
Is there anywhere a nominal roll for Poles who took part in the drops at Driel anywhere ?

    Cheers

    Arnhem

Antoni Bogusz was a Lance Corporal in the Supply troop of the 1st PIPB. He dropped at Driel from chalk number 97 on the 21st September. He was wounded the following day. I've no evidence to suggest that he crossed in to the Oosterbeek Perimeter.

Thank you both very much for the information. I have checked the book ' Poles apart' but didn't have any luck finding his name but equally it could be there and I missed it.

    Cheers
