Beside the cockpit and fuselage in Mosquito aircraft museum, and the MKII in Middle Wallop. does any one has information about Horsa parts that were found long after war, being used as shed or something like that
Isn't there a fuselage at Pegasus Bridge?

The Pegasus Bridge fuselage section is the one we used, at Shawbury, for measurements before we got the original drawings.

    Hi All,

Talking to someone in the know at Middle Wallop he told me that they did in fact have a full Horsa there and didn't know it... And some more photos of the Glider at Wolfneze...

    Cheers
    Tom

    Hi Phillip

In a very early copy of the Eagle there is a photo of a number of Horsa cockpits being used as Hen coops somewhere in Wiltshire.
I wil have a look through my copies at the weekend and see if I can find the photo and post it for you,

    Cheers

As promised here is the photo of Horsa noses being used as Hen Coops.
I thought it was in the Eagle but it was actually in a 1948 copy of Pegasus.
There is also an article on building Horsa's. Would that be of interest to you?

    Cheers

those were in Gloustershire according to the article, but I do know that one glider at least, was used as a henhouse at Stokke Manor nr Gt Bedwyn Wilts, now long gone of course, that would have been 1950s.
quite feasible as its only a couple miles from Ramsbury airfield [101st] and the vast ammo dump of Savernake forest.

The Cobberton Collection museum has a section of Horsa, but i think it might be the mock up used in the film a Bridge too Far?
