No emanuele I did not. The events I narrated in my post were during 1951 well after the war. A number of Italian PW settled around here, South Lincolnshire after the war in the farming sector some having been in the PW camp, Stamford.

Was there a POW camp near Eridge in Kent? After the war Our family moved to a farm near Eridge in Kent part of a get workers back on the Farms Gov. Scheme . Dad who had fought in North Africa and seriously wounded at El Aghelia found himself working along side Italian POW's ,To add to this dad was working alongside Italian prisoners of war (POW’s) who had yet to be repatriated. (Dark skinned, flashing white teeth, black curly hair) We used to take lunch up to dad some days and sit near them whilst he ate it. On another note I live in Halstead Essex there were two Camps one in Halstead and the other in a Former US Airforce Camp at nearby HighGarret, All that remains of the Halstead Camp is a dropped kerb that was the main entrance the camp area ,now fields, The camp at HighGarret is now a Crematorium all that remains of the old camp is a brick built water tower, ,this was hidden behind a skin of new brickwork when the Tower was converted into a dwelling, T
