    Sheldrake All over the place....

    Looks like Ex Spartan. The first major exercise with an offensive setting. "Southland" was an allied expeditionary force that established a beachhead on the South Coast. The attacking force of six divisions was the First Canadian Army with two Corps. The poor performance on this exercise by the commanders on each side McNaughton and Geimmell was one reason why neither retained their posts for long. The PXR waxed at great length about traffic control and the failures of the movement controllers
