Hi, Would you know where I could get access to Major Marciano's diary that you refer to? I am researching the incident as my grandfather witnessed it, and an Italian perspective would be extremely helpful. He was with the 98th Field Regiment, attached to the 9th Durhams. Many thanks, Mark
Hi Kyle hope your well - can you message me. I know the whereabouts of the MM group to 82 Hi Kyle - hope your well. I know this is an old thread so hopefully you get this. I know where the MM medal group to 826051 Sgt Frederick William Hopkins is, please message me and I can put you in touch with the owner! Thanks
Morning, Wondered if you could point me in the right direction as to where this material relating to Lt. Sanderson is held. I'm currently elbow deep researching one of their supporting regiments at Primosole Bridge & I'd love to view the diary etc for myself. Cheers, Mark
Lt Sanderson's bits are in a storage box in my collection room (that makes it sound more impressive than it is) - the diary isn't really a proper diary, more a collection of sheets where he covered that period - not sure if there was more for other periods that weren't kept or that went elsewhere

Hello David, Have a look at the Irish Brigade's website and send them a message. They will be delighted to hear from you: Explore the Irish Brigade website by clicking on the rows below Vitellino
They may not be abe to tell you anything about the whereabouts of the medal but there are some photos.
As far as I know he fought with the Northumberland hussars, but they lost so many men he joined another regiment until the end of the battle ,I don't know which way it works.
I have a copy of: Tegner, H. The Story of a Regiment, being a Short History of Northumberland Hussars Yeomanry 1819-1969. Newcastle-upon-Tyne: Frank Graham, 1969 There is no mention of him in this history, but that is not unusual.
