Pte Arthur Brayne Hertfordshire Regiment

    My grandfather never spoke about his service and until recently all I had to go on was a picture of him as a young man in uniform with a pyramid in the background.

    His marriage licence from 1941 notes him in the Hertford regiment, looking up his service number puts him in the The King's Shropshire Light Infantry and the British Army Casualty Lists 1939-1945 puts him in the York & Lancaster Regiment.

    I'm curious to try pin point as best as possible where exactly he served.

    How old is he? He's still alive by the sounds of it?

    He passed away in 1996 , 77 years old
