    Hello all.

    I was just wandering

Lanyards what time period were they worn? And what date did they stop wearing them?

Does any one also know the Lanyard colour of the RAC lanyard?

My grandfathers was yellow (used to keep a whistle on it) but the ones I''ve seen for the RAC are white?

    Many thanks

I would also add some photographers had odds and end of set dressing available like lanyards and swagger sticks that the lads used to look more dashing in photos

The lanyard would reflect their service colours

During WW2 the RTR did not wear Lanyards, they had coloured shoulder slides, except 1 RTR. 1 RTR adopted a Red Lanyard in the North African desert to stop confusion between them and the South African forces who also had a red coloured shoulder slide.
