    Dear ...........

i am pleased to see that you have reached out to forum members in your search for info and i wish you nothing but much joy in your project, but I do ask you to consider the following.

One of the lesser joys of reaching old age (i think that being 94 now qualifies me to use that phrase) is that people constantly write to you seeking advice regarding their relatives, usually their father or their grandfather.

I know I shouldn't complain about this and suppose I ought to be flattered to be consulted but the simple truth is that it rankles that the implied research is being carried out much to late to be of any consequence.

I've made a New Year's resolution not to reply to these letters individually but instead to ask those good people who write to me, to carry out their research on the pages of this super forum and with a little bit of luck, they may find that somewhere out there, someone has the answer they are seeking.

Now, to return to the matter in hand and back to the title of this thread.

A search on this forum for RACTD will immediately throw up a fair amount of data, study this first and follow up all the leads it offers. http://ww2talk.com/index.php?search/798400/&q=ractd+rieti&o=relevance

Over the next few days i will be going to my memoirs and diary entries looking to see whatever photos I have of Rieti and I shall be attaching them to this thread.

Please give your Dad my warmest regards and tell him that i always admired the RECCE !

Best regards for the New Year !

    Ron

Part of the Wireless Wing at Rieti was Marconi House.

Marconi was born in Rieti and was one of their most illustrious sons.
