I liked the Eurofighter best, quite epic noise, and impressive chuckability.
(None of which stops it being a massive waste of money, but I'd not seen it before and it's quite a beast.)

The Vulcan was deeply nostalgic, glad I've finally seen that one airborne again (all planes should look like that), and the boys and better half have now finally watched the Red Arrows, and were suitably impressed.

Oh and Za, there were Hunters ;).

'The Blades' intrigued me; Red Arrows pilots that obviously can't let go. Not properly Googled 'em yet, does anyone know how they're financed? Is it purely drummed up by sponsorship?

    hello vP

site states that they only have one sponsor.Looks like the sponsors vary per event.

A UNIQUE AND FRESH SPONSORSHIP PROPERTY DELIVERING EXCEPTIONAL VALUE FOR MONEY.

Because The Blades carry just one sponsor’s brand and livery, our title sponsor benefits from a unique relationship. Not only is the property fresh and uncluttered, it is world-class, high-impact and able to deliver exceptional cut-through using all forms of media. Perhaps most importantly of all, our title sponsor can drive The Blades' annual programme, directing it to target their own chosen audiences.

Corroborating The Blades' first equivalent advertising value audit, Sports Marketing Surveys’ Nigel Geach writes that The Blades is a “fascinating proposition.” James Turner of Fuel Consulting calls The Blades “the best value sports marketing property in the country”.

Loved the WWII stuff, it was great to see the Mustang on static.
The Red Arrows had one missing so all the formations looked strange and the display looked muted.
    The Lancaster looked fantastic.:D
The usual stalls were quite good. Although the guy in the Aces High tent was well ignorant and the Vets in there for signings didn't look very happy (I refuse to pay for a signature). But the new way of putting Robert Taylor stuff on canvas looked fantastic.
Robin Smith's tent was the excellent and he is very much underrated.

(Sorry Za I didn't get any photos of the Hunters)

    Craig,

I wonder if the display of the Red Arrows, with an aircraft missing, will have had something to do with the crash on Crete.

It wasn't Tom. Red 6's crash forced a replacement Red 6 for the rest of the season. The reason the arrows were a 'man' down was that Red 3, Flt Lt Kirsty Moore was off sick.

    Bod,

Many thanks for the information. I was wondering if they had run out of Hawks :D.

Before the display One Red Arrow came into land and parked up. Then after the Red Arrows had displayed it took off on it's own.
Sorry about the quality as it was taken thru heat haze at a big distance.
