I am researching an officer who served with the RAMC/Indian Medical Service/IAMC and would like help to understand some of the roles he undertook. I am particularly interested to understand the roles and responsibilities for the following when forming part of a Division's medical HQ (ADMS?): · ADMS = Assistant Director Medical Services · DADMS = Deputy Assistant Director of Medical Services · DDMS = Deputy Director Medical Services · DMS = Director Medical Services. Hi Steve I've attached a few extracts from my fathers field ambulance unit in India, mentioning A.D.S. etc. it looks as though they were in direct charge of the field ambulances, dressing stations etc. and had to deal with problems, supplies, personnel, movements, the whole works really.
