Hi all, A long shot. I have a WW2 US tunic, the details are faded, it looks like the surname Birke or Berke, and can make out possibly 441. The badges are 82nd Airborne with 1 reverse stripe on the arm. He is enlisted rank, any help or direction would be great! Thanks Dan
Try the US equivalent of the CWGC: Search ABMC Burials | American Battle Monuments Commission There is our "sister" website for the USA: WWII Forums Searching for Berke there is a Google return: From: http://www.worldhistory.biz/download567/GNMTonightWeDieAsMen_worldhistory.biz.pdf
326th Airborne Engineers were in 101st Airborne Division. The 326th Airborne Engineer Battalion (AEB) during World War II That would rule out the above suggestion.
