Hi All, I am trying to help a contact out in regard to his father's time in Burma. I am going to suggest he chases the service records from Glasgow as a starting point, but can anyone shed further light about his Dad's time in Burma. Here is what he tells me: My father was with 115 Rcc Engineers at Kalewa Valley,Burma. All I know is he was a blacksmith looking after the mules and had a Gurkha buddy who protected him. I would like to know more about his time over there. He did not talk about his exploits to any of the family. From what I can gather RCC stands for Road Construction Company. So that gives us a large clue! WO166/3614 is their time at home. WO167/937 with the BEF. Then I have these references for 115 Coy. RE, is this the same unit though? WO172/7863 WO172/9088 WO172/10364 Any help here ,as always much appreciated. Steve
There was a 115 Road Construction Company RE I have found war diaries have been named differently to actual units name, so 115 Coy coiuld actually be the 115 Road Construction Coy. If you look on the Orbat for RE's there is no 115 Field Coy so the diaries in this case could be 115 Road Construction Coy, the only way to find out is go to Kew and look at them.

Thank you Oldman, I think you might be right there.
Sounds like a visit is imminent and a brief dip into the files... Too true HC, but these files are waaaaaay down the list for my next visitation.
Hi, I know this is a old post and you have probably got the diaries for the 115 RCC by now, but if you haven't I'd be happy to email them to you. I have the following: WO 172/7863 - Jan - Dec 1945 WO 172/10364 - Jan - May 1946
