    Hi Guys

This maybe a long short I was wondering if anyone recognised this L/Cpl as I came across this in my grandmothers pictures, I also believe he was a good friend of my Grandfathers Albert Griffin known as Eddie, you were most helpful in identifying certain aspects in my grandfathers pictures, I applied for my grandfathers records so fingers crossed in the mean time, but I just thought someone may know something more about this guy?????? many thanks in advance.

Hi - I can tell you that 12 Advanced Base Workshop was formed around June 1943 from "3 Heavy Repair Shop and technical 'bricks' forming the Algiers Base Workshop." It was later combined with other units and became a component of 16 Base Workshop.

    Hi
I think his medal ribbon may have a MID Oakleaf on it. I've searched London Gazette by surname and service number but both come up blank. His SN also suggests he may have joined the Lancashire Fusiliers for starters. He is not wearing any REME shoulder flashes but having the rank of Craftsman (Cfn) that's definately REME.
Sorry I can't be of any more help, hopefuly someone else will crack it.
    Gus
