    Son of Theodore Norman and Florence Marshall Winning, husband of Joan Winning, of Tanner's Green. Worcestershire.

    Took of from Snaith at 1159 hours. Outbound the starboard inner caught fire and the Halifax crashed at 1325 hours at Manning's Heath, 2 miles south east of Horsham, Sussex. F/L. Winning succeeded in getting out of the aircraft but slipped through his harness and fell to his death.
