    Trouble with this chap they don't list his unit correctly 1-7 and 2-7 served in France with the BEF. Having looked at both battalion diaries I would lean towards 2-7 but neither is conclusive.

    Men of the 7th for this day are buried in either Albert, or Ville-sur-Ancre about 6-8km south. Does this help?

    Not really Geoff - Both the battalions I mentioned were in the area is and even after Owen and someone else explained the 1-6, 1-7, 2-7 battalion numbering system to me I still don't get it.

    You are confusing the 1/7th & 2/7th Queen's Royal Regiment (West Surrey) with 7th Queen's Own Royal West Kent Regiment.
