Gray & Co. for the Ministry of War Transport; 2.873 tons; 315,5 x 46,5 x 23 ft; 269 nhp; triple expansion engines; The Empire Newcomen was on her way from London to Sunderland, when on November 30th, 1941, she was torpedoed and sunk by a German Torpedo Boat, five miles South of Dudgeon Light.
