thank you for the Pictures! I will definitely keep you updated. From my research the RPG-2 used a similar warheads as shown in the photos and used a similar propellant system. They both used separate chambers for black powder to delay slightly the ignition which increased the speed And range from what I’ve read. Here’s some photos I’ve gathered in my initial research. On future tests I will test the how much of a difference the new type of charges make to speed and range.

That´s the magic behind that measure. As said, will have a look for the documentation

Thanks. Makes more sense when it's delayed ignition than separate mechanically-fired charges. Not a technology I've looked into too deeply, as you can tell.

Very interesting! I appreciate the information

my trigger mechanism will be modified of the panzerfaust 60 so it’s easier to reload the primers. I wonder how similar it will end up looking to the panzerfaust 150.

I also think I may be getting a faster charge because I’m using modern cannon black powder which is likely of better quality and consistency

I am quite impressed with your replica panzerfaust projectiles, did you make them yourself or find a source of replica heads ready manufactured.

I purchase them at Sarco Inc who o believe makes them or buys them from someone’s else

Just an update, I am in the works of writing a book on how to build a Panzerfaust in the same style as PA Lutys book

I’ll update with a link when it’s self published, if that’s allowed on the forum

Whilst I am engrossed by this project. I suspect we are sailing a little close to few UK regulations here.

May I suggest emphasising 'replica', 'non-functioning' with 'educational', 'curiosity' and such in the conversation to ward off the bots? To the uninitiated the thread title might seem alarming.....
    Just saying.

The launcher is legal where I am located and is registered as a destructive device, it is now live and fully functional as the originals

A PzF 150m (warhead inert!) is from a pure technical standpoint a "single shot, muzzle loading, black powder weapon" regarding the laws in Germany
I owe a black powder license....
Should I ever build such a replica and dare to send it to the „Beschussamt“ for the neccessary tests in order to shoot it legally:

It blows straight through section five of the Firearms Act 1968, simply because of the tail fins, means it becomes an "stabilised missile." Which is S5 Verboten.

Now, if you manufactured the weapon and projectile both brand new, and the projectile had no tail fins, you might be onto something. You'd have to manufacturer it so that the original warheads couldn't be used in this new gun however. So maybe a triangular barrel? At that point, its anyone's guess where it might end up in regards to the law, and may have to be tested in court. After you.

Trouble is if you removed the fins from the tail, then you've got a big problem. As the Panzerfaust was woefully bad at shooting straight. Even with the tail fins it was addressed "to whom it may concern", without them you'll be just aiming at a post code.

I'm more concerned that heavy handed 'policing' could spoil the discussions we have here. Bots are capable of misunderstanding all manner of things without being tested in court. I have seen books and manuals I own being shown on the media as evidence of malicious intent. Gently does it, don't frighten the horses...

I think you need a bit more to appear on the radar so to speak. A bunch of persons with talking on a WWII forum about Stripping and cleaning Bren guns for example, is a little different from someone rebuilding and reactivating a couple.
Military enthusiast who dumped mustard gas canisters in lake becomes first in UK to be jailed for having chemical weapons

(Count the way this guy is an idiot...)

I mean I've got recipes for Nobels 704 B, and full engineering drawings for assorted PIAT like weapons. However, I think I'm pretty safe as I have a good defence in that I'm doing a book on the subject. Here is my contract, here is the 150 page manuscript. There needs, I think, to be an extra element. I mean If I suddenly started posting on extremist websites (of whatever flavour), muttering about police buildings and how I could kill loads of copers with a PIAT from across the road, posted a picture of my half complete PIAT and started buying materials for the explosives. Then I suspect my front door would be coming in in short order.

Here in the germaniac states it´s sufficient ordering a fully legal 1:2 replica of an american civil war mortar to enjoy a full-scale home search
The logic behind this was: It´s a black powder cannon. It needs black powder for shooting. The customer doesn´t owe a black powder license, hence he must have stuffed the neccessary powder illegally. To prove this we have to search his home.
