Did soldiers in the Royal Marines move to the Regular Army easily?
I was researching the above man who was born on 18 December 1926 and seems to have become a temporary 2nd Lt in the R.M. according to page 4908 of the London Gazette dated 5 Oct 1945 on 24th August 1945 while he was still 18. Then after the war he is in the Supplement to the London Gazette page 2174 dated 16 May 1947 as a Regular Army Infantry Officer promoted to 2nd Lt (service number 371395) in the Royal Warwickshire Regiment from 30th December 1946 and he eventually became a Major in that Regiment. He died in 1991.
Also would he have seen any action in the Royal Marines in WW2 or was he too young?
