RN Service Record WW2 - HMS Martial and HMS Martial ("Duty")

    Hi.

    I'm looking for help, please, to understand what these two entries mean on a WW2 Seaman's service record:

    - H.M.S. Martial
    - H.M.S. Martial ("Duty")

    There appears to be a connection with H.M.S. Excellent II.

    Always best to see the record for context Rothy.

    HMS MARTIAL was the depot ship for the MNBDOI based in Alexandria without seeing the record, I suggest HMS EXCELLENT II was the accounting base.
    So he was either serving on the depot ship or other duties associated with her role.
