i've noted on another ww2talk thread that 111 Regt HAA were involved in the defence of The Clyde and Glasgow prior to being posted to NWE as part of 42 AA Bde. Would this mean that all batterys of 111 Regt would be in Scotland? I have 321/111 posted at Carmunnock

In general yes. It is possible for individual Btys to be sent away on temporary duty elsewhere but this was more common for LAA rather than HAA.

The only thing certain about researching history is you can never be certain about anything :)

ok, scrub everything. just got the documents scanned to me by my brother. there is a service card and an internal memo both identifying the LAA records office at Ibex House, Minories EC3, the senders ref being LAA/Div5/2. I cannot work out how to upload the images on this system but if anyone wishes me to e-mail them i am happy to do so.

    Hi Tim

This is a good example of how important it is to have service records to identify a unit.

Does the document have a date? I have the Orbat for 5 Div in France, 1940.

If you can't get them on the forum-I'll post them for you. drew5233 at hotmail.com

    Cheers

What are the size in megabytes of the individual photos. You might be sending too many in one go. Don't send anything over 6 megabytes.
