I am looking for dress service cap colors for members of the Royal Artillery HAA. I have attached a Black and White Photograph to help. We are completing a project of colorization of the full photograph and need to make sure we get the cap as close as possible. Thanks in advance for any help!! Rick

The gold piping (braid) was supposedly for officers only. Most of the OR's caps I have seen have no piping. Bouchery got that wrong. There's always something with him isn't there?
Ron's right. Private purchase only. And agreed with Combover - gold only on officers' sidehats; if present, yellow on ORs.
Sheldrake Are you thinking of Forage Cap ? If you were, then that relate strictly to the shape of the cap Ron
Hi Everyone, I hope this is an appropriate place to post my query. This photo of my grandfather lost the cap and boots at some point before I got it. I'd like to restore as much as possible. Can anyone identify the type of headwear appropriate to the uniform, please? A few paritculars which may help - His rank throughout his time in the RA during WW2 was Gunner. He joined the TA post-war and served for a further 8 years rising through the ranks of Lance Bombardier, Bombardier & Sgt. The small sliver of visible headwear seems lop-sided suggesting, at least to me, a side-cap rather that a peaked cap. He joined the RA in 1938 and served until late 1943 in the Coastal Artillery on the Humber Estuary. I think the photo is from this period of service but it's only based on an estimate of his age based on other photos. He has at least one spur on the image. I was told he had to learn horsemanship as part of his training. I have one of his spurs in my posession. Thanks in advance for any help.
