    From Ancestry details on how he died.
    Royal Artillery Gunner John Miller the son of Thomas Miller and Elizabeth nee Stokey, of Wigton Cumberland, was shot by a German guard for smoking a cigarette on 9th May 1942 at Prisoner of War Camp BAB 20 (From November 1944 became E 794 ) a camp that made up part of the massive Blechhammer Konzentration Lager / Arbeits Lager complex in Ober Silesia, Poland. BAB 20 was situated at Reigersfeld, Heydebreck. which was at Blechhammer South. After the war his body was exhumed along with others and reburied at the Commonwealth War Graves Cemetery at Rakowicki Cemetery in Kracow, Poland. Grave 4.C.14.
