The Division was broken down into 3 Infantry Brigades, each with 3 Infantry Battalions as follows:

    131 Infantry Brigade: 2nd Buffs, 1/5th and 1/6th Queens

132 Infantry Brigade: 1st West Kent, 4th and 5th West Kent

    133 Infantry Brigade: 2nd Sussex, 4th and 5th Sussex.

It maybe an idea to look at the above units atleast down to Brigade level as he would have most likely been delivering messages between Div and Brig HQ's.

Just shout if you need a hand :)

Thanks very much for the book extract Drew - it has helped me to get to grips with all the many changes in structure and make up of Signals units, in particular the 44th Div and its subsequent break up etc - as a none military man I find references to brigades, divisions, corps etc quite confusing.

I have tried to attach a few more cartoons from "Ken" with this email but am having difficulty with teh attachment process. I will try again soon.

I am now starting to dip my toe into the murky depths of the National Archive whicch is based at Kew and may have the war diaries that I want to locate (amongst the ten million other items in the vaults!!)

    Cheers
