    Hi Andy I'm after his service number. My Dad, Basil Foster (No Middle Name), was Born on 26 June 1925 in Battle East Sussex, He was drafted into the Army sometime after 26 Jun 1943 (Aged 18 years old) Severed in the Royal West Kent Regiment as a PTE solider (Bren Gunner). He served in Burma and was demobbed during 1946. He passed away on 17 Oct 1995.

    Service Records will tell you his service number - You'll be lucky to find it anywhere else.

    I can vouch for the Bedford archives who have original attestation books for the Beds and Herts certainly as far back as 1933. So names and numbers might be at this place too.

    My dad served with the Queens Own royal west kents. His 95 in a couple of weeks and although his short term memory is poor he remembers every detail from being called up to his time in burma , kohima a d lots of stories.
    Be lovely if there was someone he served with could send him a birthday message.
    His name is George Gagg . Thank you

    Hi JennySue please write down his memories....There are so few accounts in this theatre of war, especially from 'other ranks. His descendents may also be interested in future and the memories add to what will exist in his records. And say 'Happy Birthday George' from me!
