I can vouch for the Bedford archives who have original attestation books for the Beds and Herts certainly as far back as 1933. So names and numbers might be at this place too. Alex.
My dad served with the Queens Own royal west kents. His 95 in a couple of weeks and although his short term memory is poor he remembers every detail from being called up to his time in burma , kohima a d lots of stories. Be lovely if there was someone he served with could send him a birthday message. His name is George Gagg . Thank you
Hi JennySue please write down his memories....There are so few accounts in this theatre of war, especially from 'other ranks. His descendents may also be interested in future and the memories add to what will exist in his records. And say 'Happy Birthday George' from me!
