    Hello all,

    I have collected a large portion of Canadian and British war diaries. In order to understand them I have collected the relevan GSGS maps in scale 1:25.000, 1:100.000 and 1:250.000. But now I find that I also need the 1:50.000 scale maps I have been looking and was able to find them on payed websites but the price they ask for a may is over the top. I'm looking for the following:

    GSGS 4040
    20 (Ostende)
    21/31 (Zeebrugge/Bruges) -> Allready Found
    22/32 (Terneuzen/Ghent) -> Allready Found
    23/33 (Kieldrecht/Antwerpen)
    24/34 (Brecht/Lierre)
    30 (Dixmuide)

    GSGS 4083
    47 (Cadzand)
    48 (Middelburg)
    49 (Bergen op Zoom)
    50 (Breda)
    42 (Zierikzee)
    43 (Willemstad)
    44 (Geertruidenberg)

    Whatever help you guys can offer is more than welcome.

    Kind regards,

    Remi

    One of the best websites in Canada for WW2 maps (that are all free) is McMaster University website. They also have a huge holding of WW! Trench maps etc etc. Like below

    World War II (1939-1945)

    Good luck

    From former requests i can tell that these maps are hard to find. For sale yes, but for free,hmmmm
    Again i did a search this evening.......no results for now.

    But have also a look at the archieven.nl, lots of information about this area and some specific maps.

    Hello Stuart,

    Maps with a green link should be downloadable, red links can’t be downloaded. Depending on the site the link may download the map or take you to a page where you have to click on a button to download. The means to download is not always obvious, so not a stupid question, and may give you various options such as file type (jpg tif) or high/low resolution.

    Which map or site are you trying to download from?

    Richard

    4040 maps you will see for see, some at Battlefieldhistorian. The 4083 you will find sometimes on the web. I know in the archives of Zwolle they have some, but you need to visit them and maps are not for sale. Dont know where the serie 4083 is stored / archived. Still searching.... following lines.......

    46 Euros? Blimey. Are they not taking the p...? I got some A1 size maps printed off for £5.00 each! Enough said.
    I can't believe what I've read..

    Richard, thanks. I will give it a bash. Another forum member told me it was easy once you had got your head around it.
