temptage I thought it would only take a few weeks......

Have been checking and re-checking details on many of my locals and found a bit of an anomoly.

Serjeant Leslie George Day is named on one of the Special Panels at Kanchanaburi War Cemetery. It reads that everyone who is named on the panels died at Nieke Camp mostly due to a Cholera outbreak, and were subsequently cremated. Their ashes were moved to Kanchanaburi, and were buried in two graves. They are all named on the panels in the Shelter Pavilion.

Now, looking at the CWGC paperwork related to Mr Day, it seems that he was one that died, but they don't know the exact date, anytime between 01/06/1943 and 30/06/1943, allegedly. That's how it reads to me, anyway.

But then you look at the actual record for him on the website, and they have his date of death as 31st MAY 1943, very specifically, which is a date that isn't even mentioned on any of his paperwork.

His date of death doesnt appear on the Memorial plaque, so thats not a problem, but is it worth mentioning to the CWGC for them as it's obviously a transcription error that needs rectifying.
