Edit: He won six campaign medals, was mentioned in despatches and received decorations from Poland, Yugoslavia and Czechoslovakia. He also worked for British Intelligence. Interestingly, this is what he was wearing in 1980: The obvious six I recognise, the Polish one we have accounted for, the third from left is the Order of Saint John, which leaves three more mysteries: numbers 1, 2 and 11 (from left to right). The second looks British.
