Singer, comedian and all-round entertainer Sir Ken Dodd has died at the age of 90, as reported on the BBC news:
Comedy legend Sir Ken Dodd dies, aged 90

If there ever was anyone who made people laugh it must have been Ken Dodd (unless, perhaps, if they happened to work for H.M. Inland Revenue!). Some years ago I saw Ken Dodd live in Manchester and the audience certainly got their money's worth.

I'm sure that I remember him being involved in a hit & run with a motoryclist in the 1970s, with talk of avoiding a breath test as well. There is nothing to read on-line though. I stopped finding him funny at that point.

Stuart Avery In my wagon & not a muleteer.

Even in them days, the fox & geese did like a tipple or two. Who's bag / tube did they blown into? He was not my cup of tea, or a shed load of beer. But he was well known for doing a long stint. By all accounts, he does hold a World Record for telling 1500 jokes in a THREE HOUR stint.. I'm not 100% sure. I'm sure that was on the BBC today. This is on-line. He was even planning some more jokes on his death bed. Enough said on my part.
Edit. He also married his partner of 40 years on Friday last. He also died in the same house that he was born in. Not bad for a Liverpudlian.

    Regards

A great entertainer just like those before him,Benny Hill,Morecambe and Wise, the two Ronnies,Tommy Cooper,to mention but a few.
It seems no-one has been able to fill their shoes since their departure.Mind you, you couldn't get away with what they did/said today.

I remember Cooper as really funny. However watching his old shows on Cable and I have to say the humour is dire and not even remotely funny.
The massive over-hyping of Morecombe & Wise also irks me. They were good but nowhere near the god-like status they are awarded today.
