Those MLRS reprints are good, but a little expensive. In most cases, with a bit of luck and perseverance, I have been able to get an original copy for the same, or in some cases, much less.

Monty gave a lecture at the Royal United Services Institute in late 1945, based very much on the 'Operations of 21 Army Group' publication. The lecture is published in the RUSI journal

Could we have some kind of explanation for the two elephants 'taken prisoner'?

Charley - sorry they packed their trunks and were repatriated without filling in a Lib questionnaire

Wasn't there a film about a British POW escaping to Switzerland with an elephant ?

Thought so..."Hannibal Brooks" with Oliver Reed!

    Hannibal Brooks (1969)

Can't see if based on true story.
