Jan I must admit I do know not off hand would have to look it up and if I can't find it ask. ( Sorry).
Sorry I would seem to have lost you in my ramblings and gone off topic.
When I say have had them cleaned , cleaned and serviced in the workshop sense - professionally cleaned and lubricated returned to 1st class condition in terms of optical condition.
Degrading ranges from dust , slight dullness to a spiders web of muck and dirt.
Occasionally lens seperation and fungal growth.

Below a few Dienstglas , examples of the standard uncoated sets used by the Army.
The laynards have been replaced the button tabs and leather benutzer are period.
The Blue circle again a lubrication code.

The 7x50 d.glass is not often seen .
This one came from eBay about 40 Euros , it was ragged looking dirty , no eye cups - after cleaning new eyecups it is optically as good as the day it was made.
The 10x50 more commonly seen in D.glas form and not at all in naval form.
The other two are a CZ and a CAG 6x30 again low money buys , yet folks kill themselves to buy the sand coloured "Africa Corp" CAG sets.

One link that I'm sure that James remind of other forum....

As you read, in more german optical devices, are present 3 letters....See at this link and you know an interesting matter:

    German WWII Binocular Optical Codes
    [IMG]
German Optical & Precision Instrument Three Letter Codes 1940
During hostilities, the German Government tried to hide the names of the factories still in production.
They issued every factory with a unique code which was engraved on the instrument
instead of the makers name and location. e.g. Zeiss in Jena used blc and Leitz ( Leica ) beh

I have had one or two sets through their hands - one which comes to mind was a 10x50 set which lacked an eye cup , £20 saw it back in order.

hello, i have a black pair of these bins,
((Zeiss 7x50 U-Bootglas the standard mid / late war binocular issued to U-boat crews
The binocular is waterproof , same cast body construction as the 8x60 -the rubber top cap are in two parts the eye cup and the prism over , the rubber objective bumpers to protect against bumps on metal surfaces which might break the lens or knock it out of collimation.
    ))
with the benutzer eyepiece still in place, the rubber is in fairly good nick but the black paint has been all but scraped off for some reason(not by me!) showing the aluminium below. i want to sell them but e bay seems to be the wrong place, any ideas??
thanks in anticipation for your help.

They look like a nice set Erich , the clip back type eye cups are a bonus.
"Rubber armoured" is the term often used to describe the set - cleaned they will be good for the rest of your life.
    A good find . :)

James thank you very much for your comments.

now going to pry into your expertise again. now for these glasses would it be standard that this item be equipped with a rain guard and also what filters/colours should go along with this set ? and any other small specialized tools ?

    best

    Erich ~

Erich , his set did not have a rainguard.
They would have had two sets of coloured filter which pressed on to the rubber eye cups , one set red the other amber.
No other tool would have been supplied with the set but maintenance workshops would have had special tools to open the desiccator ports and to replace the cells.
Attached a set which I sold a few years ago the nature of the filers is shown , they were stored in the interior of the case lid.

Picked these up , hope to have them next week, a set of nicely marked 7x50 Zeiss produced in November 1940.

The set on the flag show are from a batch made in March 1940 , the leather rainguard is shown to be missing and one of the eye cups has been replaced.
