I think that REPORTS OF THE U.S. NAVAL TECHNICAL MISSION TO JAPAN is an very useful resource in postwar matters. I invite you to explore its contents. "Between September 1945 and November 1946, the Naval Technical Mission operated in Japan under the direction of the Chief of Mission, Captain Clifford G. Grimes, USN. During this period a total of 655 officers and men served with the organization. 185 separate reports were published on various aspects of Japanese naval equipment and other technical developments of naval interest". I think that The Naval Review - The Independent Professional Journal is an very useful resorce. Take a look: Diary of the War at Sea, 1939-1945 The Naval Review was published throughout the World War II. A regular feature of these editions (starting in May 1941) was the ‘Naval Diary of the War’ which recorded day-to-day events from 1 September 1939. The final diary entry, 20 September 1945, was printed in the November 1945 journal. The diary was compiled by Mr F E McMurtrie, editor of Jane's Fighting Ships. Jan.

While searching for more info on 1st Welsh Guards in 1940 this website came up: http://www.ww2guards.com/ww2guards/IRISH_GUARDS_IN_WW2.html Haven't read through all of it but appears to have a ton of information (war diaries) on the other Guards battalions as well. I searched the forum to see if the site had been posted on previously and didn't come up with anything so hopefully this is new to ww2talk. Best Regards, Dave
Official 82/101 Airborne after action interviews (first hand accounts), Normandy, Holland and Bulge. http://www.wwiiarchives.net/servlet/action/documents/usa/123/0 A lot of books have quoted from these particular interviews. With regards,
Only a tiny fraction of the Combat Interview collection is there; and it seemed a one-shot effort: they haven't added anything in a year or so.
