    Hi Doug,

One of the men I'm researching on the Woodchurch (Kent) memorial is Pte 4038703 Amos FAIRBROTHER of the 2nd Bn, The South Staffordshires who was KIA on 22 September 1944 and is commemorated on the Groesbeek Memorial. I would be very interested in any information you may have on him and the circumstances in which he lost his life.

    Many thanks

    Gary

    Hello Doug

Did you get my private mail?

If not I'II repeat what I requested.

Do you have any information of North Staffordshire Regiment? I'm interested in the 50th and 9th Btns during the early WW2 years. I know that the 50th was a holding regiment at Alton Towers for a while and was disbanded about 1941. The 9th during the early stages of the war was in UK, I should like to know their movements around UK .

If you don't have the diary yourself could you let me know where I could get a copy or access. I've tried the Staffordshire Regimental Museum in Lichfield but they haven't any WW2 data, only WW1, and they pointed me in the direction of the National Archives but so far I've had no luck in finding anything on their web-site.

Hello Doug, my grandfather, Maldwyn Douglas Havard transferred into 2/6th Sputh Staffordshire Regiment around 15th July 1944. I have some general knowledge of Operation Pomegranate, but is there a detailed account within the regimental history at all please? I’m particularly interested in the events around Noyers, as it’s likely that he was injured at that time.
