Good afternoon everyone, I am writing from Spain as I am doing historical research on Spanish fighters in WWII, especially those born in my home town and region.

I would like to know if there is any way of finding out how many Spaniards were in the British army during the war. Is there any kind of list that can be consulted? I have found some lists on the internet but they do not usually indicate the place of birth of the soldier and in this particular case I need to know.

How can I access the documentation of a soldier in case I need it?

Anything that can help me in my research would be welcome.

Unfortunately it doesn't run to places of birth but names (along with Army Numbers) make a start at least.

The Second World War saw volunteers from across the globe sign up to fight the Axis powers. One group that has often been overlooked, however, are the Spanish Republican volunteers who served with the British Army.

Against the backdrop of Churchill’s efforts to keep Spain out of the war, these volunteers were recruited, trained and deployed across the British Army, from the elite SAS, the Commandos and the Special Operations Executive to the ranks of the infantry and the Pioneer Corps.

Spaniards served in most of the campaigns in the West, from the Fall of France and the evacuation from Dunkirk in 1940 to the fighting in North Africa and Italy, as well as the final push across North-West Europe and into Germany.

I can't confirm if born in Spain/Spanish but we have a casualty from 1st KOSB - Charles Delafuente. KIA 6th August 1944.

By look of english first names of his parents I doubt it

Yeah, Mum's maiden name looks to be Marcus but no UK birth record for Dad. *Joseph could be Anglicised, maybe? Jose?
