Hello to all No.273 Squadron's enthusiats.

I am currently writing a book about the 1st Fighter Wing of the French Air Force in Indochina, during the november 1945 to august 1946 period.

The wing operated up to 13 Spitfire Mk.VIII of the No.273 squadron, loaned by the RAF, and wearing French markings for nearly three months. I am posting today because photos of these planes are extremly rare. I am looking after photos of the planes in Saïgon, before their use by the French, because I would like to associate the MS-x codes of the aircraft of the squadron with their serial numbers (the French used only the serials). I wonder also if families of the No.273 Squadron members could have some photos of the planes with French markings ? In fact the French were so impressed by the new Spitfire Mk.XIV of the 273 that they took only pictures of these planes...

Thank you very much for any help you can give me.

    Best regards from France.

    Mathieu
