Hi - I am new to forum. I came across it when researching my fathers war record. I have just recieved after a long wait his Army records. We knew he had been posted to Germany in April 1946. Family folklore is that he was there to give evidence at war crimes trial (there is other folklore about being captured and shot, but Pegusus Archive notes he was sniped). I can find no evidence of him being there for this purpose, but have discovered he was posted to T Force Unit Kamen 1 Corps in May 1946. I also know he was in Bad Salzfluzen and stayed at a nice hotel there.

He married in 1946 and sought B class release to get back home. I can find very little info on T Force or deployment post war to Bad salzuflen or Kamen - can anyone point me in the right direction??

    Many thanks

    Hi JLD and welcome

I found this T-Force was an elite British Army force which operated during the final stages of World War II. Originally used to secure and exploit targets that could provide valuable intelligence of scientific and military value, they were later tasked with seizing Nazi German scientists and businessmen in the aftermath of VE Day. One of its operations was Operation Eclipse, under Tony Hibbert, to seize Kiel. The operations of the T-Force were among the largest "exploitation operations" carried out by the allies.
This from Wikipedia type T force
and somebody else will defiantly have some knowledge of it on this forum

Many thanks to you all. I have now got the book which I will enjoy reading. The excel sheet posted elsewhere on the forum, with national archive file list, includes some references to the T Force that I will follow through on.

This is such a good forum!!
