    During the battle at Mozzagrogna, 1/5th Royal Gurkha Rifles was led by Major Richard Wethered Morland-Hughes, MBE MC. He was temporary in command of the battalion as CO, Lt. Col Harrison was wounded in previous action. He died on June 19th, 1944.

    Also remembering the great uncle of a family friend, Fusilier Harry Dye, who was killed at Mozzagrogna on 29th November 1943:
