    FORT STIKINE EXPLOSION On April 14th, 1944, Fort Stikine was at Bombay when a fire broke out in a hold. The ship was carrying bales of cotton, 1,400 tons of explosive ordnance and £1~2 million gold bars. The flames reached the cargo and there were two huge explosions, 20 minutes apart.
