    (0200 hrs on the 15th November 1944) - It whilst leading his platoon onto CASETTA (Map Ref 368165) that Captain J.W. WOMERSLEY came under fire from enemy machine gun positions in the farm yard. Badly wounded, he urged his platoon into the attack. Unfortunately this brought more fire down on himself and he was killed soon after.
