    Additional Information: Son of George Frederick and B. Chambers; husband of Vera Chambers, of Shepherd's Bush, London.

    Cause of Death: Killed in Action. (From the Lincolns Roll of Honour)
    This is an odd one, as 2 Lincolns were in the UK between 1940 (Post Dunkirk) & 1944 (Pre Normandy) at this time. The war diary and appendicies do not have a list of Officers, so nothing can be checked.

    Internet searched other than he was originally in the Grenadier Guards: See SUPPLEMENT TO THE LONDON GAZETTE, 29 JULY, 1941. Lincoln R. .C.S.M. George Frederick CHAMBERS(191881), from Gren. G'ds., to be 2nd Lt.2nd July 1941 and posted to the Lincolns.

    Additional Information: Son of George and Sophia Troop; husband of Lucy Troop, of East Stockwith.

    Cause of death: Unknown, as discharged 25/10/1942 and died same day. Nothing in the war diary.

    A soldier who has been found physically unfit by a medical board is discharged from Army service under King's Regulations, 1940, paragraph 390 (xvi) as "ceasing to fulfil Army physical requirements."

    Cause of Death: Died as a result of an motor car accident - Knocked down by the driver. Based at the Infantry Trainining Centre at the time.
