No. The figure of 55,023, I got by searching the NA for each month in 39-46.

A recount. A number of record have no Gazette date, so did not get counted, but do have a period date. So I've now counted 57,996 for 39-48. 3,363 of these are Foreign to British and 1,368 are British to Foreign.

    All going well then Geoff?
A few bugs yesterday, so slow progress:mad:
What happens to your db in the case of obvious typos, is it impracticable to have the info changed?

Don't think these can be easily corrected. Hopefully the NA index (and mine) will allow searching for partial matches. I often do this on CWGC, when I fail to find something.

I've split the data into about 20 regions, this is the first I've done and is sorted on name:

That's fantastic Geoff - I'm certain that these will be a great help to those looking for citations. Have a rep, wish it was a pint !

I've put up an index file here:

    Geoff's WO 373 lists

The data is not all loaded yet, but it only takes a few minutes to generate each file.

The theatre files can be quite big - up to 4MB. There are five large files, (F2B, NW Europe, Middle East, Burma and India, Italy) the others are mostly well under 1MB.

The WO files are smaller. There is a blank column so energetic folks can fill in the page number from the 'digital microfilm' downloads :)mellow:).
The files are sorted by name, I'm not sure if this is the best option. I have not checked the microfilm order - it may be the same as the unsorted data order, which would make adding page numbers easier, but it's probably going haywire somewhere.

I've just tried loading one of the html files into OpenOffice - it works OK and is editable although when you save again as html you get a bigger file size (OpenOffice does not use Geoff's patent pending unbloated file systems). Not tried Excel or its OpenOffice version.

    Any suggestions welcome.

    cheers,

    geoff

I have uploaded all the data files now. The number after the link is the number of records in each. Links which are not active means I did not find any WW2 data in that part.

    cheers,

    geoff
