Do you know if the French SAS war diaries are available online? Or if other period archives concerning them exist on the internet.
A fantastic resource, and in my experience always very, very helpful. Bienvenue Good fortune to you in finding what you seek, kind regards, always, Jim.
I only dealt with Op Amherst (April 1945): OPERATION AMHERST: French SAS in Holland, April 1945 For my thread I used the OP Logs of SAS HQ and some (French) reports that were written after the conclusion of the operation, which differ greatly in quality. The latter are available in Dutch archives of the NIMH (Nederlands Instituut voor Militaire Historie or Dutch Institute for Military History) and partly online. Also made use of the site quoted by JimHerriot.
Okay, I'm asking this because I saw that these war diaries existed precisely thanks to your thread on Operation Amherst. And yes the FFLSAS site is a great site. I cannot find the reports in the NIMH, can you help me. Where did you find the French reports?
PiR003 - Lucky for you. I retrieved the cobwebs covered link in a dark niche, deep inside the catacombes of my computer. This is what you are looking for: Archieven.nl - 72 Verscheidene artikelen betreffende operatie Amherst: E. B... (NIMH / Nederlands Instituut voor Militaire Historie)
Though I once registered, I cannot get access anymore, whatever I tried. Gave up the attempts after a while.
