I really haven't been paying attention to tank restoration stuff for a while, have I... I see that the Gibb Sdkfz. Foundation (they of the Jagdpanther, halftracks, and Tiger Engine) has been re-named 'The Weald Foundation' for several years now: http://www.thetankchannel.com/sdkfzoverview.html Pottered onto while looking for more on their FT17 restoration (said to be nearing completion.) I'm assuming this is their site: http://www.wealdfoundation.org/ Under construction, but quite possibly worth keeping an eye on.
Reading their accounts from the charity commission website is quite interesting, though it also contains the sad news that Tom Jentz died at the end of 2012, something which had passed me by. Some nuggets re. ongoing restorations there, including the FT17. http://apps.charitycommission.gov.uk/Showcharity/RegisterOfCharities/CharityWithoutPartB.aspx?RegisteredCharityNumber=1099261&SubsidiaryNumber=0 2008-9 2009-10 2010-11 2011-12 2012-13
Second Jagdpanther on the cards. (Comment on Friendface says about everything but the gun in place) The Weald Foundation on Twitter People may remember their other JP:
Interesting video. Collection turning focus to WW1, and perhaps more interesting to me, 'The Empire Project' - SA, India etc. Tank Restoration - The Weald Foundation
8 Rad indeed. Slated for full restoration, I believe. One of those moving might possibly lure me to tankfest or Beltring again.
