Hi all, I’ve been looking for information on this guy for a while now and can find very little about him. I’ve also tried the RAF Commands website to know avail. What I do know is:
    • His service number indicates that he enlisted at Cardington in April 1939
    • The London Gazette has him commissioned on 27/05/1944 and promoted to F/O on 27/11/1944
    • He was posted to No.1690 B(D)TF, probably during February 1945, and was posted from that Unit to RAF Blyton on 18/10/1945 - possibly for demobilisation

I also suspect that he may the chap of this name who was born in Woolwich on 09/11/1921 and died in East Yorkshire during May 2005. Can anyone on this forum help me please? Thanks, Andrew

    Hello Andrew
Re the info you have could I ask where you received it from is it family or just a general query that you have jumped into(as we all do)
I am sure others will be along shortly to try to assist you but have you applied for his service records.
If you believe he was born in Woolwich it gives you a start with his birth date

For completeness the RAF Commands query is here Thomas Henry BOSWELL 947793 / 163153
    regards

    Hi Clive

The source of the known facts are AIR78, the LG website and 1690 B(D)TF's ORB. The possible places and dates of his birth and death are the result of educated guesswork. I am not in touch with any of his relatives, although I am trying to find some. I hope this clarifies the situation. Thanks again, Andrew :)
