Hi and welcome to the forum Have you created a family tree on Ancestry that includes him?? Thomas Keeling Stubbs 1908 - 1962 TD
Hi Neil I should also have asked if you have his service records?? - if not then I suggest you obtain a copy as it is the prime source for information for his military 'service' - link https://www.gov.uk/guidance/requests-for-personal-data-and-service-records#how-to-apply-for-service-personnel-records TD
thanks for the reply. yes , hes in my tree but unfortunatley very little is known by anyone, nobody knows who his dad is either which is quite bugging. My dad and aunty dont know much either. Im finding it hard at the moment to find anything new about him, I thought maybe finding his army number and regiment would make life easier even though he wasnt in service long. Maybe his service records will have more details ? neil
Hi Neil Re your tree, thats why I asked as I did not want to post info you already know/have. His service records are the place to start, they may include info on his next of kin, so his father and/or mother may be mentioned. It will also tell you where and when he went and with who. From that you can (hopefully) obtain the War Diaries to provide you with more details. Several members on the forum provide a copying service from The National Archives as they are regulars there, if you cannot make it yourself. Let us know how it goes TD
